Our Values
Because of the good news about what Jesus Christ has accomplished through his death and resurrection, we believe that there are certain values that should come to shape our lives. Our desire is that the values we hold shape both our individual lives and our corporate life together. To this end we value:
Living Deeply - We are committed to living out of the depth of our union and communion with Christ.
Living Neighborly - We are committed to joining God in loving and living intentionally for the well-being of our neighbors, both locally and globally.
Living Communally - We are committed to being shaped by, and living out, the gospel of Jesus Christ through life in authentic community.
Living Justly - We are committed to doing justice, living justly, and speaking prophetically for the sake of all who are oppressed in our neighborhood.
Living Generously - We are committed to giving of all that we are and all that we have in response to God's abundant grace that has been poured out on us.
Living Restfully - We are committed to living lives of rest in the midst of a chaotic world.
Living Beautifully - We are committed to living lives that witness to the beauty of God by creatively generating beauty in our neighborhood.
Living Delightfully - We are committed to living lives full of celebration and joy.
OUR BELIEFS
As part of the East Coast Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church denomination, a fellowship of over 800+ churches, we affirm the essential beliefs of Christian faith as expressed through the Apostle's Creed and the Nicene Creed. Central to our beliefs are the following:
the centrality of the word of God
the necessity of the new birth
a commitment to the whole mission of the church
the church as a fellowship of believers
a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit
the reality of freedom in Christ
