As we embark together on this Lenten journey, we are confronted right out of the gate with the reality that to follow Jesus is to follow him on the road to crucifixion. Throughout the Gospels, Jesus is very clear with those who have any interest in following him that this life of discipleship is no cakewalk. It is not a call into a life of comfort, but a calling to bear a cross. However, Jesus gives the promise that when we give up our lives—when we stop trying to hold on to our own lives—that is when we will truly find Life. During this series we are going to be exploring this call to costly discipleship, and seeking to learn from Jesus what it will look like to have lives that are shaped after the pattern of the cross. This is the Way of Jesus. There is no other Way. Will you come? Series begins Sunday, March 1*
“When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.”
